Club History

Futebol Clube do Porto de Londres is a non-profit association based in the heart of the Portuguese community in London, United Kingdom. We are very proud of our history, the activities developed within the Portuguese community and the triumphs achieved throughout its existence.

The club's constitution has maintained the values ​​since its inception and as such, directors and all staff volunteer their time. FC Porto de Londres has worked towards the development of sport and other cultural and recreational activities, with the aim of involving the Portuguese community and helping people to integrate with other communities around them, without excluding anyone interested in participating in these activities. .

FC Porto de Londres was born from the desire to create a Portuguese football team that would allow the existence and development of values ​​of friendship and camaraderie, along with other non-professional activities for the benefit of the Portuguese community. We are proud to share our club's story and hope that when you read this, you too will want to participate in everything we do.

  • February 14, 1984

    FC Porto de Londres was founded as the 53rd subsidiary of FC Porto. José Maria Pedroto, former FCP coach, was the main ambassador.

  • April 1985

    FC Porto de Londres trip to Porto and Estádio das Antas (former FCP stadium). During the stay, our senior team played a friendly game against the FC Porto Juniors at the Estádio das Antas training facilities. The game ended 7-2 in favor of the Juniors, who had recently been national champions.

  • September 1985

    FC Porto de Londres wins the 'Dragão de Ouro' or 'Golden Dragon' for Best Branch at the First Congress of Branches and Delegations. This is a highly coveted award for branches and delegations, and we are proud to have received it.

  • January 21, 1994

    FC Porto de Londres became the first Portuguese club in the United Kingdom to buy its own headquarters.
    Number 82 Landor Street is owned by the club and has been home to many supporters and members ever since.

  • June 4, 1995

    The official inauguration of the headquarters was carried out by the great Sir Bobby Robson, who at the time was the coach of FC Porto.

  • April 2, 1998

    FC Porto de Londres received the Diploma of Merit from the Portuguese Community. The award was presented by the Secretary of State, José Lello, in recognition of the club's relevant role within the Portuguese Community.

  • September 2004

    President Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa's first visit to FC Porto de Londres.

  • April 2005

    FC Porto de Londres visits Porto for the third time. Our senior team played against FC Porto's Velha Guarda at FC Porto Centro de Estágio.

  • Season 2007/2008

    FC Porto of London crowned Champions of Wimbledon District First Division.

  • December 2009

    FC Porto de Londres celebrated its 25th anniversary with special guests Dr. Sardoeira Pinto and former FC Porto players Mickey Walsh and Fernando Gomes, the latter also a former Portuguese international.

  • Season 2010/2011

    FC Port of London Dragons under-18s were crowned London Champions and League Champions for the first time after beating Yalova FC 3-0 in extra time in the London Cup Final, held at the Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium. Additionally, they beat St. Mark's 4-1 in a playoff game for the League title.

  • March 1, 2014

    FC Porto de Londres celebrated its 30th anniversary in the presence of João Pinto, in the biggest event the club has held to date.

  • March 15, 2014

    The U21s won the League title for the first time in the club's history winning the decisive match 3-1 away against Quwwa FC.

  • March 26, 2014

    The seniors won the Wimbledon & District Division 2 title after beating South East London 6-0 away from home.

  • May 31, 2014

    FC Porto de Londres wins their third title when the Under-14s win the league title, defeating Providence House in a playoff. This becomes the most successful season in the club's history!

  • January/March 2017

    FC Porto de Londres becomes a founding club of the London Supporters League, competing against London-based supporters' clubs. In the first ever season we were in second place, behind only Lazio.

  • May 2018

    The seniors win the LSL Champions League, coming from 2-0 down to beat Juventus London 4-2 and win their first LSL title.

  • June 2018

    The U9 team comes 6th in a tournament held at The Den.

  • September 2018

    FC Porto de Londres is awarded the Dragão d'Ouro for the second time in the club's history.

  • March 2019

    The club celebrates its 35th anniversary with special guests Frasco, Lima Pereira, Emídio Gomes and Cecília Pedroto.

  • April 2019

    The U21s win the London County Saturday Youth Football League for the second time in the club's history.
